WRATH of THE LICH KING!!!

It’s what the guild was made for.  +- 30 accounts total.  Nearly a perfect number for the small, agile guild we’ve built.  Here’s a quick breakdown of what we have, and what we need.

Here’s a list of ACTIVE main characters being leveled in WOTLK as of right now:

Healers 5 (8 when afk’ers come back)

Lot’s of questions about what is going to happen raid-wise before the expansion are swirling around the forums and in-game.  With WOTLK, we will all get into leveling mode, and start the race to 80.

It will be critical to stay in close touch through our forums when the expansion hits so everyone can share ideas on how to level, the best places and rep to level in, etc.  Our goal is to reach 80 with as many MAIN characters as we can with the best gear and begin progression immediately.  If this list is wrong - post a note in the forums that your main is not X, it is now X.  Levelling up 3 characters will kill our guild progression.  If you must level an alt - do it when you are waiting for Grownups to have enough to raid.

The Grown ups guild will be using the SWAPS - Zero sum DKP system.  It’s the most fair, easily trackable system we could identify.  There are easier methods, but they aren’t that fair.
Here is the basic 3 line description of how this works:

1. (1) The guild grants all raiders a fixed balance of points.
2. (2) When an item drops, raiders offer to pay some or all of their points to the other raiders for looting rights to the item.
3. (3) The raider who offers to pay the most points shares them evenly among all other raiders and wins the item.

The inner council is the group of founding fathers for this guild.  We’ve been working on and off for months trying to put together a great guild that will be successful coming into the WOTLK expansion.  The inner council consists of:

Griffendora/Carterpants
Jibberish/Xankou
Ohbasan/Metasequoia

Our role in the guild will be to shape the guild and give it purpose and direction.  We will oversee the officers and make the tough decisions that are sometimes made in a guild.  The inner council rank is now closed forever.  

The other ranks you can achieve in Grown Ups are- FNG, Timeout, Friends/Family/Alts,  Member, Veteran, Officer.

FNG - You put your app in, get accepted then enter a short initiate period.  It’s where we get to know you, and vice versa.
Timeout -This is a temporary class that does not let you chat in guild chat.  Don’t be put here.
Friends/Family/Alts - Even though we are a raiding guild we still make room for friends and family, but they will not be allowed to raid until after all the main raiding members have already been asked.

Member - After your initiate period, you are fully vested in the Grown Ups and barring anything horrible.
Veteran - Show yourself to be a loyal and proven member of GU after a period of time and get promoted to a veteran status.
Officer - This is the core of the guild.  These people get raids ready, help with recruitment, keep everyone headed in the right direction, make decisions on new guild members, and basically run the guild.

Hey, this is Griff.  My main character is Griffendora, a human shadow priest.  I am the Grown Ups guild leader. 

I’ve played this game for 2-3 years.  I leveled my priest 1-61 as Holy.  Yes, it was painful.  I went through a bit of an alt-o-holic spree for awhile, creating some horde characters and a multitude of alliance characters for me and my kids.  I raided the old school stuff - Molten Core, Zul’Gurub, An’Quraj (20), and Onyxia as a holy priest, and put my toe in the water with healing Karazhan before I went back shadow.  So I have SOME experience healing.

Shadowpriest’s however, are my true love.  The mana return, and raid utility make it a great class to raid with. 

Why am I doing this?

I’ve always wanted to.  I’m not the best shadowpriest in the world, far from it.  I’m probably not the best GM in the world, but I do think it’s possible for coordinated, small groups of individuals with great skill to do great things in this game. 

I think that it takes groups of people that actually LIKE to play with each other.  That eliminates the problem people in your guild, loot whores, socially retarded people, kiddies, from being a part of this.  If you don’t normally get along with people, let tiny little things throw you into a complete rage, or hold horrible grudges for things that happen on accident, etc- this is not the place for you.

Are you interested in joining a new guild? Tired of being a guild that’s holding you back?  Wanting to learn more about your class and get better?  I think we have something for you, but here’s the thing- this won’t work if you don’t want the same things that we do.

We’ve all been in guilds where some of this stuff is there - heck, maybe all of it for short periods of time. This guild is going to hold them all to an extremely high standard. That’s partly the reason for the size. We aren’t stupid - a lot of people will probably not have the right ego for this type of thing. That is, none. This is a team, people who don’t want to be a part of the team will be weeded out.

What does that MEAN?

The one thing I promise we will be is honest. Not hateful, rude, type honest - but we are going to lay everything on the table and be up front with you. The officers and class leaders we ask to help out will be held to a much higher standard. They must know how to communicate extremely well, give criticism the correct way and have to have the ability to watch and evaluate other players as they play. It won’t be an easy job, but it will be the most important.

Basically, this guild is full of Grown Ups. Big boys and girls who are responsible, and want to play with other like-minded people. If you aren’t that person - that’s ok! I have a feeling you’ll know fairly early on if this is right for you. Having said that, we are going to have fun. Joking and teh funnis are allowed. Encouraged even. The ability to have fun, yet completely concentrate and perform at a moments notice is EXACTLY what we are looking for. If you are tired of your casual guilds’ lack of focus, or organization - tired of morons in your guild, tired of l00t whoring pre-madonnas, tired of never getting anything done and want to grab that sense of satisfaction and win, maybe this is the guild for you.

The guild framework is coming together, the picture of what we want this guild to be is becoming more and more clear.  I want to make sure everyone completely understands what this guild is about, and not to be surprised about anything.  This is going to be a fair deal, and if something comes up - we are going to be flexible and quick to respond.

I’m really excited about getting this stuff together and starting this guild.  The more I think about the landscape of WOTLK - the more I think a small, lean, efficient guild full of people willing to learn is going to dominate the 10 player version of the raid encounters.
